Football lovers across the nation can brace themselves for another thrilling campaign as the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) kicks off next weekend. The stage is set, the teams are ready, and the passion of the fans is about to erupt once again as Ghana’s elite clubs begin their quest for glory.
The season opener comes off on Friday, 12th September 2025, with a mouthwatering clash at the Accra Sports Stadium where giants Hearts of Oak SC welcome newly-promoted Hohoe United FC at 7 pm. All eyes will be on the Phobians to see how they begin their campaign against the league newcomers who will be eager to make a bold statement in their debut season.
On Saturday, 13th September 2025, attention shifts to the Brong Ahafo Region as Berekum Chelsea FC lock horns with perennial rivals Asante Kotoko SC at the Golden City Park. This fixture is expected to be one of the highlights of the opening weekend, given the rich history between the two sides. Over at the Duns Park, Goldstars SC will face Bechem United FC in another intriguing regional showdown. Both matches kick off at 3 pm.
Sunday promises to be action-packed with a full schedule of fixtures spread across the country. Newly-promoted Heart of Lions FC will welcome Dreams FC to the Kpando Sports Stadium, marking their return to the top flight.
