Ghana Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced his 23-man squad for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Madagascar. The squad features a blend of experience and emerging talent as Ghana seeks to secure vital points in their qualification campaign.
Leading the team is captain Jordan Ayew of Leicester City, who will spearhead the attack alongside notable forwards such as Iñaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Antoine Semenyo (AFC Bournemouth), and Christopher Bonsu Baah (Genk).
In midfield, Ghana will rely on the creativity and control of Thomas Partey (Arsenal), Kudus Mohammed (West Ham United), and Elisha Owusu (AJ Auxerre), among others. The defence is reinforced with experienced names like Alexander Djiku (Fenerbahçe), Mohammed Salisu (AS Monaco), and Gideon Mensah (AJ Auxerre).

Otto Addo has also handed call-ups to three Ghana Premier League players: Benjamin Asare (Hearts of Oak) – Goalkeeper, Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC) – Defender, Razak Simpson (Nations FC) – Defender
Their inclusion highlights the growing confidence in local talents as Ghana continues to build a competitive squad.
The Black Stars will, however, be without several key players due to injuries. The likes of Tariq Lamptey, Joseph Paintsil, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Daniel Kofi Kyereh have been ruled out, posing a significant challenge for Otto Addo’s tactical setup.
Ghana will face Chad on Friday, 21st March 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi at 7:00 PM. The Black Stars will then travel to Madagascar for their second fixture on Monday, 24th March 2025, at Stade Mahamasina, also at 7:00 PM.
With a mix of seasoned internationals and promising local players, Otto Addo’s squad selection reflects a strategic approach to securing maximum points. Ghanaian football fans will be eager to see how the Black Stars perform as they edge closer to their World Cup dream.
