Former Ghana midfielder, Michael Essien has earned a UEFA certificate in football management, marking another milestone in his post-playing career.
The former powerhouse midfielder for clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid has been working to attain his coaching qualifications and now adds a football management certificate to his growing list of credentials.
Essien dedicated several months to complete the intensive program, which included online modules and three in-person sessions. Upon finishing, he took to social media to share his enthusiasm for reaching this significant goal, saying, "Finally done with my UEFA certificate in football management journey. Thanks all for the help. I keep learning about the beautiful game. ##UEFACFM."

Currently, Essien is putting his skills into practice as an individual talent coach for the Danish Superliga team FC Nordsjaelland, where he guides young players with his wealth of experience and tactical insight.
Essien's illustrious playing career began at Bastia in France, later moving to Olympique Lyonnais, where his performances captured the attention of English side Chelsea. At Chelsea, he became one of the Premier League's top earners, helping the club to multiple league titles and a Champions League trophy.
The Ghanaian international later played for other prestigious teams, including Real Madrid and AC Milan, solidifying his reputation as a globally admired midfield talent.
