Die Fohlen unveiled their new home kit for 2022-23 on social media on Saturday, and then wore them later the same day in their final home match of the Bundesliga season against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
The shirts are mostly white, with a green-and-black vertical stripe running down the centre of the front. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are white, as are the shorts that go with the shirt. The socks are white with a green-and-black stripe around the middle and a club crest on the front.
The new home shirt is inspired by the club’s most successful years in the 1970s and 1980s. The traditional white shirt with a black and green stripe in the centre is a timeless design which combines the identity of the Foals with a modern touch. This is a motif which was also reflected in the design of the 2021/22 home kit, which put together the fashion of the new generation of Borussia fans and the iconic history of the “Elf vom Niederrhein”.
