The Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to development and youth empowerment as he led a high-level team on a final inspection of the Ho Aviation Academy on Thursday, 13th November 2025.
He was joined by the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, the MCE for Ho, Hon. Stephen Adom, chiefs of the Asogli State, engineers, and project partners from Sweden. The team toured the academy site located within the Ho Airport enclave, assessing readiness ahead of the institution’s official launch.
The Ho Aviation Academy, an ambitious and forward-looking project, is set to redefine aviation training in Ghana. The facility will host a pilot training school, an aircraft maintenance and engineering centre, and a range of specialised aviation units. Once operational, it is expected to become a regional hub for aviation excellence, offering world-class technical training to support Ghana’s expanding aviation sector.
Speaking during the inspection, Togbe Afede XIV commended the steady progress made so far and emphasised the importance of investing in future generations. He noted that projects like the Ho Aviation Academy hold the power to transform communities by creating jobs and equipping young people with globally competitive skills.
“We must continue to champion initiatives that open doors for our youth and strengthen the economic foundation of the Volta Region,” he said, expressing pride in the collaborative spirit that has driven the project.

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, also praised the teamwork between local authorities, traditional leaders, and international partners. He highlighted the academy’s potential to stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and position the Volta Region as a strategic player in West Africa’s aviation ecosystem.
The inspection team expressed confidence that the Ho Aviation Academy is on track to meet its vision. With its modern infrastructure and strategic partnerships, the academy is expected to become a beacon of innovation, training, and opportunity—not just for the Volta Region but for Ghana and the wider aviation fraternity.
