Ghana’s Head Coach, Otto Addo, has officially announced his 23-man squad for the upcoming Kirin Challenge Cup and a double-header of international friendlies against Japan and South Korea later this month.
The Black Stars will face Japan at the Toyota Stadium in Aichi on Friday, November 14, before taking on South Korea at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Tuesday, November 18. Both matches are expected to give Otto Addo a closer look at his team’s progress as Ghana continues its steady rebuild ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The squad features a balanced blend of youth and experience, with new faces joining familiar names in what many fans are describing as a “refreshingly competitive list.”
Goalkeepers
Otto Addo has called up Lawrence Ati Zigi (St. Gallen), Joseph Anang (St. Patrick’s Athletic), and Benjamin Asare (Accra Hearts of Oak) — giving local-based talent Asare a valuable opportunity to prove himself on the international stage.
Defenders
The backline includes Mohammed Salisu (AS Monaco), Alidu Seidu (Stade Rennes), Gideon Mensah (AJ Auxerre), Jerome Opoku (Istanbul Basaksehir), and Derrick Kohn (Union Berlin). Rising stars Caleb Yirenkyi, Ebenezer Annan, and Kojo Oppong Peprah also make the list, alongside the consistent Jonas Adjetey of FC Basel.
