In a majestic blend of culture, craft and sport, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and PUMA have officially revealed ITRI, the match-ball that will roll across the pitches of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
Named “ITRI” — a nod to the star motif found on the Moroccan flag — the ball draws deep from Morocco’s artistic heritage. It takes visual cues from the centuries-old zellij mosaic art form, where hand-cut tiles form intricate geometric patterns.
The star geometry speaks to ambition, light and the pursuit of excellence on Africa’s grandest football stage.
Petal-shapes reflect celebration, growth and the festive spirit that the tournament embodies.
Circular symmetry symbolises unity — as 24 nations converge under one continental rhythm.
The red and green palette honours Morocco’s national identity, while dynamic “Flow of Movement” lines capture the unmistakable rhythm of African football.
But this isn’t just a pretty ball. Behind the artistry lies PUMA’s cutting-edge Orbita 6 technology — engineered for precision, balance, swerve control and flight stability at the highest level.

Mohamed Ghonemi, CAF’s Creative Development Manager, said:
“Created for the rhythm of African football, the AFCON 2025 ball brings together art, motion, and a design shaped by African spirit and Moroccan craftsmanship.”
For players, every touch of ITRI will echo both culture and competition — a reminder that this tournament is not just about winning, but also about identity and collective pride. For fans, it is a visual declaration: African football has its own voice, its own artistry, and this ball amplifies that.
With ITRI set to make its debut in the opening match of AFCON Morocco 2025 on 21 December 2025, this is more than a launch — it’s a celebration of home soil, of continent-wide unity, and of the beautiful game in Africa’s spotlight.
When the whistle blows and the ball sails past defenders, what looks like a single moment of action will carry centuries of heritage, a modern technology heartbeat, and the ambitions of 54 nations. ITRI is ready. Africa is ready. The world will watch.
