The camp of dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale has officially confirmed that the artist, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., was detained earlier today by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) over an inquiry linked to the tax obligations of his luxury yellow Lamborghini.
According to management, the self-acclaimed Dancehall King voluntarily reported to EOCO’s offices this afternoon in the company of his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to cooperate fully with ongoing investigations.
In a statement released, Shatta Wale’s team reassured fans and the general public that his legal representatives are “fully engaged and actively working with the authorities” to bring a swift resolution to the matter.
“We want to assure all fans and the general public that his legal team is taking all necessary steps to secure his release at the earliest opportunity,” part of the statement read.
The management further urged members of the Shatta Movement (SM) Family and well-wishers to remain calm and avoid unnecessary speculation as the process unfolds, emphasizing their confidence in Ghana’s judicial system.
Shatta Wale’s management and lawyers are expected to return to EOCO offices tomorrow morning to continue discussions with investigators.
For now, the multiple award-winning artist remains in good spirits, with his team promising timely updates as matters progress.
Shatta Wale, known for his fiery personality and unrivaled fan base, has faced several public controversies in the past. But as things stand, his management is urging calm, focus, and patience while the legal processes take their course.
